Inspired by the ducks at Beacon Hill Park in Victoria, B.C. Years ago I lived in Victoria and after work I would go for a run through Beacon Hill Park. Each year I would see the ducklings slowly growing up, following the mother duck around the pond. My son had just been born and I was starting to see the world completely differently. Moments like this got me inspired again, and it got me thinking about painting and capturing the natural world around me. Six years later, (and after countless hours of practice) I feel confident and excited to be able to capture these moments in a painting.
